Laughter - One of the Best Medicine to be Happy

Laughter is the best medicine to be happy. In golden olden  days people used to laugh very frequently and it was a part and parcel of their daily routine. That's the reason they all had a healthier and longer life. But in today's busy schedules humans have forgotten to laugh. We can forget all our worries and can be healthy if we laugh heartily.  Today's world has come to such a state where people are participating in laughing clubs and trying to laugh forcibly. Why? Because it the most cheapest medicine available for free but which can cure your worries more than any medicine and keep you healthy and give you longer life.

According to Wikipedia "Laughing is a reaction to certain stimuli, fundamentally stress, which serves as an emotional balancing mechanism. Traditionally, it is considered a visual expression of happiness, or an inward feeling of joy. It may ensue from hearing a joke, being tickled, or other stimuli. It is in most cases a very pleasant sensation."

One can turn the pages of history to find that how comedy has played an important role in movies or dramas to make people laugh. Even today people like those with a lot of sense of humor, who can make the environment jovial and make everyone laugh. It needs spontaneity to convert any kind of situation into a humorous situation. If one can understand the importance of laughter, they will never hurt others and always see to it that everyone laughs a lot and be hale and healthy.

Why dont people understand that they need not pay anything to laugh heartily. Luckily the government still hasn't put any tax for laughing. People can save their laughter the day government does such thing. But why dont people understand this simple thing. Let us all laugh and make others laugh. Really hats off to all those who can laugh heartily and who can make others laugh heartily.

One should get the inspiration from seeing the new born babies and infants who laugh very frequently and experience the bliss. The day when every one takes an oath that daily he/she will make people around him/her to laugh for atleast 10 minutes, that day this world will be free of stress, strain, health hazards, suicides, depressions etc. We should feel ashamed of ourselves, for claiming making the world as a single global village, technological advancements, landing onto moon and all other achievements. But we are unable to decrease the widening gap between the people. The more todays humans are running behind the money and other technological advancements, the more they are forgetting their basic emotions. Probably one day the humans may forget that they can even laugh heartily. What is the use of all these advancements when one needs to remember himself/herself that he/she needs to laugh for his/her better health and he/she has the capability to laugh.

Let us all try to make people laugh and make this world a better place to live.

Happiness - A State of Mind

What is happiness? A question arises in mind. How can one define happiness. Another thought comes as an answer "it is a state of mind". When we think that it is a state of mind. Can states change, definetly it can change. That means it is in our hands whether we want to be happy or not. Let us take an example.

If there is a cat in my house and a rat is eating away all my important documents. If this cat eats that rat, then I will feel happy because I feel that cat is helping me by eating the rat which is destructing my documents.
If the same cat eats away the food arranged for me, I feel unhappy and also feel like beating the cat, because it had eaten away my food.

Now lets take the both the cases and analyse the situations
Case1
cat is eating    object ::  rat    result :: Happy
Case 2
cat is eating    object:: food   result:: Unhappy

Now in the above cases, cat is doing the same thing, the objects are different and the results are different. With respect to the cat it is doing the same thing eating its food, whether it is a rat or another food item. Then what caused the result to change. Its the state of mind and the attachment which we had to those items.

In the first case we were attached to the documents and somebody else were destroying it, so we felt happy when the cat ate the rat and in the second instance we were attached to the food and when cat ate the food, we felt unhappy.

Now the question arises, how to convert this unhappy result to the happy result. If we become detached to the food and change the mind state we can become happy.

We can become broadminded and think let the cat eat the food, maybe it is hungry. Let me get some more food for myself. If somebody can think in this manner and get detached to the food, they will feel satisfaction that they have fed a hungry cat, they can feel happy. So it all lies in the state of mind whether we can be happy or unhappy.

If someone gets easily irritated they can never be happy. If someone thinks narrow they can never be happy. People who doesnt know how to smile or laugh can never be happy. If one wants to be happy forever, they should help others. The satisfaction and happiness which they get when they make others reach their goals, the happiness which they get when others are fed, the happiness which they get when others go satisfactorily are boundless and unexplainable.

Some one can only feel them and experience them. Words are very less to explain them. If one practices  to change his state of mind, then he can be happy always.

Let there be happiness in everyone's life.

TeamWork and its importance

Teamwork reflects the ability to work together as a group towards a common vision or a common goal. What is the importance of it. If a person thinks that when he is capable in doing certain task, what is the necessity for him to be a part of the team. Maybe a person is capable to do certain things individually, but for sure he cant do all the things individually. For some tasks to be done, he needs to be a part of the team. He should know the importance of both individual as well as team goals. Then only he will become successful. And as experience grows and when the person starts interacting with lots of people, he should be well aware of certain things which can make him successful. First thing he should have the right attitude. Next how to be a good team player.

When a person has a right attitude, he will definetly look at the positive side of everything which in end will make him to be a winner both individually and as well as teamwise. The famous quote "winners dont do different things, but they do things differently" indicates how a person with right attitude will look at any problem or a task coming his way. Even in bigger organisations they look for people with right attitude who can be part of a team in achieving the goals. As someone said teamwork means "more we". The day when a person realises the importance of "We" rather than the importance of "I", he can goto greater heights in his life. What a person cant achieve individually can definetly be achieved with the help of a team. This can be applicable to person's personal or professional life.

Personally when a person is conducting any event, it requires involvement of lot of people, and if they are not properly coordinated, the event can become a flopshow. Every one involved should have the right attitude for the event to become successful. This can be the same in any organization or any project or anywhere where it deals with lot of people working together for the result of some task.

Teamwork involves so many things like having right attitude, listen properly, communicate clearly, better coordination with other team members, be accountable, delegate things, having good knowledge about the work to be done,  follow the leader or team head. If a person can improve his capabilities of being a good team player, then at some point of time in his life he is definetly bound to be successful and be a winner.

Learn to become a good team player and know the importance of teamwork.

EGO - 3 Letter word ruling the world

Ego a small 3 letter word. Appears to be small, but plays a major role in the lives of humans. Every person will have ego, and nobody wants their ego to be hurt. But in the game of satisfying their ego's humans cross the barriers and their limits. It appears that probably this small 3 letter word make humans blind, ruin relationships and what not.Probably it is only ruling the entire world.

If we trace back the root cause of any problem, it will definetly lead to the ego of some person who was the cause of the entire problem. It may be between two nations or between employee and employer, or may be between a wife and a husband or it may be between friends or any other relationship. Definetly, the root cause for a rift between them will be an ego factor. If a wife and husband are getting divorced, the cause might be very simple, everybody wants their importance and individuality wherein the process, they want their ego to be satisfied and in the race they forget the basic principles of life and hurt others in the process which finally leads to a separation.

History has proven that people who have followed the path of ego have ruined their lives and the lives of people who followed them. Success , completeness in a human being is accomplished only when they follow the path of love. Some one who spreads love and follows the path of love will be definetly successful and also bring goodness to the lives of people who follow him.

When observed carefully why some people are always suffering and why only very few people are happy and successful, it can be concluded from their lives, that they happiest people have not given undue importance to their ego. When a person is not having any ego, definetly he is bound to be happy. Happiness comes in a state of egolessness.

Now comes the question. Is it really possible to be egoless. Is it really possible to be happy. Yes definetly it is 100% possible. Let us take the case of small children who are just born or who are infants and who doesnt know the tricks of this world. We can see how happy they are playing in their own world, having no fear and no ego. They smile a lot and are always happy. Is it not evident that they themselves are very happy and who ever are seeing them also feel that happiness and forget their troubles.

So what does this indicate, purity in thought,  having no fear, having no ego these are the qualities which we observe in a child. If anyone can implement these in their lives, definetly like an innocent child we can also be smiling a lot and can be really happy.

As the old saying goes and various researches have proven "Laughter is the best medicine". A person who is pure from inside and have no worries or troubles, have no fear, have no ego can have a whole hearted laugh and he will smile a lot. Smiling and laughing are the indications that a person in happy. Only a happy  person can bring the change in the atmosphere - make others happy. Even if someone looks at his cheerful face forget their troubles and get relief.

Lets not spread the distress, problems , fears, ego etc we have to others by keeping an unhappy face, rather try to be happy and make others happy.

Smile a lot. Laugh a lot. This will make you a happy person.

The Mindset of a common man

Sometimes a question arises in the mind can a common man really be happy? On one side there will be lots of desires and on other side the earnings will not match to fulfill their desires. A total imbalance between the earnings and the expenditure, betweent the desires and the fulfillment of desires. A struggle for existence trying to balance between the basic wants and the desires is the common sight for any person. If the common man is happy why there is a lot of distress, trauma, unhappiness etc among the humans. It indicates that the common man is not happy. Then the question arises why is he unhappy? what are the reasons which is making him unhappy? What are the forces which are stopping him in being happy.

If we refer to the pages of the history, always the bloodshed done in the name of wars was due to someone who wants to be a monarch. People doesnt like to be at the mercy of someone. Everyone wants to have the freedom in having a happy living. But due to some selfish people, all the others have to suffer and bear the consequences of  their activities.
It is natural to expect name and fame among the people and being recognised, having wealth to fulfill their desires, able to do charity etc. But the most important thing is that these have to be achieved by a proper means rather than unlawful ways.  No one thinks about his fellow being and his country. Everyone wants their needs to be fulfilled, but at the cost of some one else effort. People want fast money, fast recognition, fast growth.  Where is the end for this ?

The solution lies with us. If everyone does their duty correctly, automatically as an individual they will be correct and as a family they will be correct and as a nation they will be right and as a total world everyone can live happily. In unity lies strength, happiness, growth, peace and harmony.

For a common man to be happy, the change needs to come from the top to bottom. If the heads of the nations have morals and know the value of life, certainly every individual of that nation can be happy, their neighbouring nations can be happy and in total, the entire world can be happy.

Let us pray that every individual should do his duty correctly leaving his selfish thoughts to make this world a better and happy place to live.

Sewa and Its Results

Sewa, by definition, is any physical act one performs for the benefit of others in need.  In Sanskrit, it is described in the shloka Paropakaraya Punyaya, Papaya Parapeedanam, i.e. any action resulting in the good of others is noble and should be followed.  Sewa is essentially selfless service toward humans, animals, nature, and even the self.  For every service done for  others is a service done for the self and, in effect, a service done for God, as illustrated in the shloka, “Iswarah Sarva Bhutanam Itruddesha Arjuna Tishtati,” which means that the same God who is present in me is also present in other human beings.
An integral component of sewa is daana, or charity. However, such charity must be impersonal. Charity is not a tool for making one feel more superior for having given; it is not rewarded with platinum plaques and gold medals. Charity, like service, is done for punya, purity of the heart.
Types of Sewa:
Sewa consists of two parts: runa- debt that is owed, and yagna – a sacrifice, or how to repay that debt.  We owe a debt to everyone and everything that has affected who we are now and who contributed to us being where we are today. From the engineers and scientists who developed new technologies, the doctors who took care of our well-being, and our parents who have guided us and provided us with unending resources, we have incurred countless debts. How do we repay this debt? How do we help those who have helped us? Through sewa or yagna.
There are five general types of runa, each corresponding with a yagna:
1. Devaruna-Devayagna: This is a debt to all the natural forces that replenish life at every moment: the sun, rain, etc. To serve these forces, one must respect them and preserve them, not just through pooja adorned with ritual, but with a deeper understanding of the importance of nature and what is owed to her.
2. Rishiruna-Rishiyagna: A type of debt owed to the teachers who have contributed to the field of knowledge, be it through a professor’s lecture, a grandparent’s wisdom, or a writer’s book. It is a debt that is repaid through passing the knowledge to others or adding to the large store of knowledge.
3. Pitraruna-Pitrayagna: This is an obligation to parents who have raised their children and helped develop their personalities. Whatever we become in life, we become because of our parental figures. We owe them compassion and respect when they are alive, care in their old age, and shraadha with their death.
4. Nararuna-Narayagna: Beyond the teachers and the parents, nararuna is what is owed to fellow human beings.  This is the yagna most commonly identified through various NGOs working to assist men and women who are deprived in any way by building schools and hospitals or raising funds for the homeless.
5. Bhutaruna-Bhutayagna: A responsibility towards the animals who have nourished our environment and contributed to our existence. For example, take the earthworm, whose presence provides fertile soil. It is our duty to care for the animals as they have cared for us.
Sewa is performing all of the mentioned yagna to fulfill the obligation we owe to everyone, including nature and God.

How Sewa is performed
Sewa can be spiritually driven or performance driven. NGOs are excellent examples of professionally managed and effective service givers. Sewa is done with efficiency to better the lives of as many people (or animals) as possible and produce the best results.
But, at a more individual scale, sewa can be spiritually motivated. With this, results are not the most significant factor. Rather, service is done as a sacrifice and driven by principles and morals, for the betterment of the community at all levels, including self-development.
As a rishi once said, “Mountains and valleys both peacefully coexist.” Sewa, too, can be highly effective and efficient but must also have the depth of spirituality. There is no right or wrong way to do sewa; It is done to see the smiles of children in need, the appreciation in the eyes of the old, and in the integrity of existence.

There is a saying in hindi which says "बिना सेवा मेवा नहीं ". If we turn the pages of history we can see that all the great people have done enormous service to their people, communities, countries etc. Depending on our role we should extend our service at various phases of a Life. If we are a son/daughter we need to look after our parents and give them back our service. If we are a citizen, we need to give back to our society and our country. It depends on the individual what he can do. If somebody really has the idea, then automatically the required resources to complete that idea will be given to them provided they really has the will to fulfill that thing.

The entire nature follows the principle of giving whereas only humans have deviated from the path by taking. Humans have gone to such an extent that they have forgotten the basic principle that they should return back.
We should question ourselves, there are 5 basic elements which nature has provided us. Land, Water, Fire, Air and Sky. Humans have started taking everything without ever returning back.We have occupied land selfishly and if we turn the pages of history we can see the war and bloodshed done in the name of land. Water, needless to say the basic element, we have spoiled everything and we are in a such a position that we need to buy water to suvive. Fire, even this is not available for free, either it is petrol which runs our vehicles or the gas which helps us in cooking, has to be purchased. Air, another basic element for the survival of humans, we have polluted it completely and in hospitals again we need to purchase for the suvival. Sky, the last element which humans didnt spare. They have spoiled the ozone layers. Always humans are taking from the nature. Nature will some day  forcibly take back from humans what they have been always taking.

Not only from nature, even in our daily lives, humans have become selfish and are always in a taking mood rather than giving back. We expect respect from others, but hardly give respect to others. The saying always says "Give Respect, Take Respect". So the principle is always give before taking. If we want to cut a tree, we need to plant a tree then only cut a tree. If we expect anything, first we need to give it, then only we have to expect for it.
History proved various instances, those who doesnt share or give back will definetly have to lose what they have taken. Nature will never allow to make the resources unused.  As technology is growing day by day, when we consider that we are proceeding towards global village, where computers and technology have made the world a smaller place, when we consider that technology is crossing all the barriers of human limitations, instead of making the world a better place to live, humans have made this place the worst place to live.
Who is responsible for all these, ourselves. Each one of us should question themselves "What is my responsibility towards my parents, my fellow human beings, my country, towards the entire world, towards nature". We should not behave irresoponsible just because somebody is not asking us or somebody is not watching or monitoring us. Else someday humans have to answer the nature, when it starts taking back in the form of epidemics, earth quakes, floods, rains etc. Let us not force the nature to act in wilderness to forcibly bring back the balance in nature. Let us arise and awake in advance rather than crying in the end for the loss incurred to the humans.

At every level if everyone of us perform our responsibility and do service to our parents, our fellow humans, our country, this world will become the best place to live. Let us all take the initiative today.

Share Knowledge- Gain Knowledge

Way back when I started my career, me and my colleague struggled a lot when some of our technical queries were not solved. Those were the days when internet was not that popular, was not approachable to a common man and was available with only bigger companies. We always went to many technical guys with our questions and found out that it was difficult in really getting queries solved. Two things seemed to be the criteria. A proper way of questioning and a proper way of answering. Though I have something in my mind which I want to get answered, I may not be able to frame the question properly. When a proper question is put forth, definetly we get the required answer. For this the person in quest should learn the art of questioning. Secondly even if a person has good knowledge, if he doesnt have a proper communication and presentation, he may not be able to completely explain it the person in quest.

So there lies a gap in between the person in quest and the person in solving or explaining the concept. Basing on our personal experience, we felt that someone like us should not undergo the same thing. Then onwards we started this concept of share knowledge and gain knowledge. From our personal experience we found out that the more we share, the more we gain. At later stages of my life, I have experimented with this concept in other areas of life. The end result was always same. It follows the simple principle of newtons third law "Every action has got an opposite reaction".

When we do any action, definetly it is bound to have some reaction. What is the reaction depends on what is the action done. If you take a positive action, definetly the reaction would be positive and if you take a negative action, definetly the action would be negative. Now somebody take a positive action cant have a negative reaction. For this I dont need to give any proof , already the great person newton has proved this. Everyone during their high school might have studied about these principles in their physics textbooks.

One more important thing is the timing, how fast the reaction will be. Definetly it depends on what kind of action is taken. If you throw a ball to the wall, it may immediately rebounce back to you. Where as if you plant a seed it may take months to see the result of a plant or a tree. Similarly if you start a business it may take months or years before you get returns on your investment. It is the same thing with the knowledge, the knowledge you share today will help you in gaining, which will definetly at some point of time of your life support you. It may be the same thing with investment of money or donation of money. Some results are immediately visible and some results are visible only after certain amount of time. Just because the results are not visible immediately, we cant claim that there is no result.

Just imagine the situation today, if somebody would not have shared their knowledge on the internet, would it have been possible for so many people who are utilising the internet to survive. Definetly not, we always have to be open in mind and heart in sharing. The action of sharing will get us the reaction of gaining. Closed minds are like the wells which gets spoiled due to the mass, fungus, dirt etc and open minds are like the wells which are useful to everyone. Let us not restrict ourselves and become useless, rather be useful to everyone by sharing our knowledge. It may not be specific to anyone, but maybe useful to someone who is in need.

Anything which is not in use becomes inactive, dumb and useless and thing which is always used will be in condition and ever active. In this era of technology where humans are becoming dependent on computers in their daily lives, it becomes to keep ourselves updated all the time, to be in the race or else we will be thrown aside. For this to happen we need to have open mind in sharing our knowledge with others, when the same thing is reciprocated both of us will be updated and both of us can live. Here also the darwins theory of "Survival of the fittest" comes into picture. The nature also will give chance or scope those who can withstand its changes, all else will become extinct.

In summary, recollecting the memories I spent with my colleague with due regards to him, thanking him for all his inspiration and support, I conclude share knowledge and gain knowledge
